Sustainable Retail Displays

There's growing consensus globally that retail needs to be more sustainable. As consumers raise their expectations of the eco-friendliness of products, how they are displayed will need more sustainable solutions as well.

More eco-friendly displays.

Across the retail industry, there's an opportunity to be more sustainable in how we bring attention to products in-store with displays. The question is not whether we can make a difference, but rather how we can make it economically viable.

At InStore Design Display, we understand this need and have made sustainability a core consideration in our design, manufacturing, and transportation processes. We recognize there are tradeoffs between virgin and recycled materials, and can present you with the pros and cons of each.

More and more, we are finding that it’s smart business. So, we’re making an effort to reduce the impact of our operations and products on the planet. And we’re here to help you do the same.

1. Retail Display Design

Design with sustainability in mind.

Our design process prioritizes sustainability by optimizing manufacturing and transportation efficiencies, improving recyclability, and considering the longevity of the display. This approach not only benefits the planet by preventing unnecessary carbon emissions, it also saves our clients money.

3. Printing & Manufacturing

Ensure recyclability. Minimize waste.

To ensure recyclability, we offer VOC-free ink for printing graphics on corrugate or cardstock.

We minimize manufacturing waste and maximize reuse of scrap materials.

4. In-House Program

Reduce.
Reuse.
Recycle.

Besides reducing waste in our manufacturing processes, we also have an in-house recycling program that provides a second life for scrap materials.

Since 2020, we've recycled 223,606 pounds of materials, saving 390,733 pounds of CO2 emissions, which is equivalent of 39 gas powered vehicles driven for one year, carbon sequestered by 1,931 tree seedlings grown for 10 years or 122 acres of US Forests in 1 year.

What we've recycled in terms of paper and plastic materials equates to saving 238 trees, 4,706 gallons of oil, 38,269 hours of electricity, and 71,833 gallons of water.

We are doing our best to reduce how much waste goes into landfills from our operations.

5. Energy Use & Transportation

Reduce carbon footprint.

To reduce the carbon footprint of our facility, we use LED lights and skylights in our warehouse and incorporate motion sensors to reduce energy usage when lighting is unnecessary.

For each project, we optimize the product for shipping purposes to minimize the cost of transportation. The size and shape of a container can make a big difference in what it costs to ship. When we reduce the cost to ship, we reduce the carbon footprint of our products.

We also partner with transportation companies like UPS that are carbon neutral in their operations.
