InStore Design Display was proud to host the Art That Blows fundraising event on June 10. This year’s Art That Blows raised a record-breaking $12,500 to benefit Band of Angels, a non-profit organization that provides music lessons, musical instruments, band camp scholarships and more to kids in need. The event was a wonderful success.

Art That Blows: What Went Down

Art That Blows is a unique fundraiser because local artists have taken broken and unusable musical instruments and turned them into works of art, then donated them to the event’s silent auction. The whole goal is to show that, though the instruments were beyond repair and unable to be used for music, they could still be used to give the gift of music back to kids who need it most. It’s an amazing event every year, and IDD is proud to be involved.

Art That Blows 2016 was no different! In fact, it was the best one yet. On top of all the wonderful art on display and up for auction, spirits were high, the music was pumping, and everyone’s hearts were full. See for yourself and check out the photos from the event above!

What is Band of Angels?

Band of Angels collects used musical instruments, restores them, and then donates them to Kansas City area students so they can join school music programs. Since 2010, Band of Angels has donated over 1,000 instruments, allowed over a hundred kids to attend music camps, and raised over $100,000 to benefit summer music camp scholarships.

If you missed the event, you can still contribute to the great work that Band of Angels does by making a cash donation or donating an instrument of your own.

InStore Design Display salutes all those who contributed to this year’s Art That Blows! Thank you to all who came out and made it a night to remember. Be sure to put it on your calendar for next year!
